Seems to me, in America, people are divided along two core axes.
Behind both of these themes is a mirror of cynicism.
On one side we have people who laugh when they are presented with an honest question about, for example, “why not join me at church on the weekend?”
On the other, an immediate disregard for the role government can play in upholding fair health care, education and housing.
In the pursuit of profit and power the leading political parties, major new networks and social media have unintentionally exploited this inability to empathize and listen.
The US political system is broken. Seems to me it will so until it’s people can develop the communication and critical thinking skills necessary to bridge the gap and come together.
